POSITION DESCRIPTION
Hours : Monday-Saturday (Sometimes Sunday)
Time and schedule will vary according to our clients’ requests and employees’ availability.
Summary:
The “Mover” position is responsible for moving, loading, unloading, and set-up of furniture and household goods during delivery and pick-up. This position starts at 15$ per hour. Movers are eligible for a raise after their trial period of 30 days. The raise is contingent upon the employees who demonstrate hard working qualities, professionalism, reliability, consistency, and dependability.
The “Driver” position is responsible for driving plus moving, loading, unloading, and set-up of furniture and household goods during delivery and pick-up. This position starts at 16$ per hour. Drivers are eligible for a raise after their trial period of 30 days. The raise is contingent upon the employees who demonstrate hard working qualities, professionalism, reliability, consistency, and dependability.
Pay Period:
Employees are paid every Friday.
Uniforms:
We wear purple shirts for work with a clean bottom of your choice. There is a 10$ uniform fee for a company standard purple shirt deductible from the employee’s paycheck. Each additional shirt is 10$.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lift, carry, and load furniture weighing up to 100 pounds, onto box trucks for transport to and from client’s locations, including up and down stairs.
• Deliver and set-up furniture inside client’s home, as required/requested within committed time frames including but not limited to bed frames, mattresses, box springs, dressers, tables, chairs, sofas and lamps, washer and dryers, etc.
• Respond to inquiries and requests from clients, customers and community partners in a knowledgeable and professional manner. Provide problem-solving solutions when necessary.
• Collect furniture from residential, individual and/or commercial/institutional clients’ homes and facilities.
• Follows established moving policies and procedures at all times.
• Demonstrate the ability to protect all furniture from damage through established best practices.
• Pack and unpack items in an organized and efficient manner.

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
• Physical ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds on a regular basis and operate moving equipment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
• Ability to work independently and/or with a team, exercise good judgment and sound decision-making required.

Physical Demands: While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach; frequently required to climb or balance, talk or hear; and occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to walk forward, backward, side to side, and/or up and down stairs while carrying furniture.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving parts and outdoor weather conditions including extreme heat or cold weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This position operates during standard business hours requiring flexibility for early morning, evening, and occasional nights and/or weekends to best meet our clients’ needs. For taxation purposes, this is an independent contractor position.

Violation Policy:
Any employee who fails to show up for work after being scheduled will be given a first and second warning. Upon the third violation the employee will be terminated. Any personal activities during work hours will not be tolerated. This includes smoking, drinking alcohol, talking on the phone, etc. Please refrain from using foul language and speaking with the client on a personal basis. This will also lead to termination after the first and second warning being given.
